No internship doesn’t mean no experience. Recruiters hiring entry-level roles are checking for evidence you can do the work, not specifically that you held a job title yet — coursework, projects, and part-time work can all carry that proof.
What counts as experience
- Class projects with a real scope, tools used, and an outcome
- Freelance, part-time, or retail work — reframed around transferable skills
- Volunteer work, campus organizations, or hackathons
- Self-directed projects you built and shipped on your own
Structure it around proof, not titles
Instead of a thin “Experience” section, lead with a “Projects” or “Relevant Coursework” section that carries the same weight. Use the same action → scope → result bullet formula even without a job title attached.
